Seeing a Security Certificate Warning? Here's What to Do 🔒

Learn why your browser may show a certificate warning on AcuBliss and the quick checks that get you back in safely.

Overview

A security certificate is how your browser confirms it's talking to the real AcuBliss website. If your browser can't confirm that, it blocks the page and shows a warning such as "This connection is not private" or "This certificate is not valid."

The warning is your browser protecting you, so it's worth taking seriously. In most cases, it means your phone or computer briefly connected to the wrong server somewhere between your device and our website. This article walks you through the quick checks that sort it out.

💡 Important: While the warning is showing, leave the page and don't enter your password. Never tap Visit this website anyway, turn off certificate checks, or install a certificate to get past it.

Why This Happens

When you open your AcuBliss link, your device looks up where our website lives and connects to it. If something along the way sends that connection to a different server, your browser sees a certificate that doesn't belong to AcuBliss and stops you. Common reasons include:

  • Outdated network information: Your device or your mobile carrier may be holding on to an old address for our website for a short time.

  • VPNs and filtering apps: A VPN, ad blocker, content filter or security app can route your connection through its own servers, which sometimes interferes with secure websites.

  • Public or restricted Wi-Fi: Hotel, cafĂŠ, airport and some office networks can redirect or inspect traffic, which can trigger a warning even on safe sites.

  • Browser extensions or privacy browsers: Some extensions and privacy-focused browsers handle secure connections differently.

  • Incorrect date and time: If your device's clock is off, certificates can look invalid.

Using a VPN or a privacy browser isn't wrong. These tools just sit between you and the website, so they're one of the first things to check when a warning appears.

Quick Checks

Try these one at a time. Each one helps narrow down where the problem is.

  1. Use your practice's exact link. Open AcuBliss from the same link you always use, such as your bookmark or your practice's login page.

  2. Try another browser. On the same device and connection, open the link in a different browser. For example, try Safari if the warning appeared in another browser.

  3. Switch your connection. If you're on cellular data, try a trusted Wi-Fi network, or the other way around.

  4. Pause your VPN or filter. If you use a VPN, ad blocker, content filter or security app, pause it for a quick test, then turn it back on. If your device is managed by your workplace, check with your IT admin first.

  5. Restart and update. Restart your device, install any pending software updates, and make sure the date and time are set automatically.

Send us a message with these details so we can look into it with you:

  • A screenshot of the warning and the link you were opening.

  • The approximate time it happened, with your time zone.

  • Your device, its software version, and the browser you used.

  • Whether you were on Wi-Fi or cellular data.

  • Which of the quick checks above you tried, and what happened.

  • Any VPN, filter or security app you use.

We'll never need your password, verification codes or patient information to look into this.
