Overview
If you can't log in because you no longer have access to your authenticator app, we can help point you toward the right places to look. Before you start, it's important to know what we can and can't do.
đĄ Important: AcuBliss does not remove or reset multi-factor authentication (MFA) on any account, for any reason. We can guide you through finding your existing authenticator app on your own devices or a loved one's device, but if it truly can't be located anywhere, the account cannot be recovered.
What Is an Authenticator App?
An authenticator app generates the one-time security code you enter alongside your password when multi-factor authentication (MFA) is turned on. It's a security layer that proves you're really you, not just someone who knows your password.
These codes only exist on the device where MFA was originally set up, which is exactly why losing access to that device locks you out, and why the app itself has to be found again rather than reset.
Common Authenticator Apps
MFA codes can live in a few different places, depending on how your account was set up:
Dedicated authenticator apps: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and Duo Mobile are the most common.
Password managers with built-in authenticators: Apps like 1Password, LastPass Authenticator, and Bitwarden can generate and store these codes too, so check there if you use one of these to manage your passwords.
Built-in phone authenticators: Some phones save codes directly in the device's own password or keychain app.
Where to Look for Your Code
Since we can't reset MFA for you, finding the app is the only way back into your account. Check these places carefully:
Your main device: The phone or computer you normally use to log in is the most likely place to find it.
A secondary device: An old phone, a tablet, or a backup device can still have the app installed and working, even if you don't use it day to day.
A related device: If a family member, partner, or colleague helped set up your account, the authenticator app may be on their device instead of yours.
If you find the app on any of these devices, open it and look for the entry linked to your AcuBliss or ChiroBliss account to get your current code.
Verifying Your Identity
MFA is set up manually by the account holder, which means it's a deliberate security choice, not a default setting. A lost authenticator is also one of the most common ways bad actors try to gain access to an account without the real account holder knowing.
Because of that, our support team will verify that you're the genuine account holder before walking through any of these steps with you. This may include confirming account details only the real owner would know or verifying the email on file. This isn't us being difficult; it's what keeps your patient data and your practice's account safe.
