Learn how to record your telehealth sessions using AI Scribe on your phone for the best transcription quality.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Overview

When using AI Scribe during a telehealth session, it’s recommended to use the Record from Phone (QR Code) feature. This ensures your computer’s microphone stays free for the telehealth call, avoiding poor-quality recordings or conflicts with your audio setup.

This guide walks you through how to use the QR method for smooth and accurate transcription during your virtual visits.

Steps to Use the Record from Phone (QR) Feature

  • Before your telehealth session begins:

    • Open the appointment and click “Add Note.”

    • Select “Record Audio Files for AI Scribe.”

    • Choose the “Record from Phone (QR Code)” option.

  • Scan the QR Code:

    • Use your phone camera to scan the code shown on screen.

    • Tap the link that opens and grant any necessary permissions (microphone access, etc.).

  • Start recording:

    • Begin the session and tap “Start Recording” on your phone.

    • Make sure your phone does not go to sleep, as this can interrupt the recording.

    • Avoid phone calls, Wi-Fi dropouts, or system apps that may stop the recording in the background.

  • Finish recording:

    • When the session is over, tap “Done” and then confirm with “Yes.”

    • Your audio will automatically be uploaded to the Note, and the AI Scribe will begin transcribing it.

    • You can later return to the Note to review and edit the transcription.

Important Tips for a Successful Recording

  • Use a stable internet connection on your phone.

  • Enable Do Not Disturb to avoid interruptions.

  • Keep the screen awake (disable auto-lock or keep it active manually).

  • Always start the Note and recording before the telehealth session begins.
